The Glasgow Riverside Innovation District (GRID) is a partnership between the University of Glasgow, Scottish Enterprise and Glasgow City Council. Linking the north and south banks of the River Clyde, a heritage area renowned for shipbuilding heritage and Glaswegian leadership in science, engineering and medicine, GRID offers hi-tech industries of the future a unique opportunity to flourish alongside world leading university and hospital facilities. 

Knowledge Quarter London

The Knowledge Quarter London is a partnership of over 100 academic, cultural, research, scientific and media organisations within a one-mile radius comprising of King’s Cross, Bloomsbury and Euston. Partners include the British Museum, Google, UCL, University of the Arts London, Digital Catapult, Wellcome Trust, and the British Library.

Leeds Innovation Arc

The Leeds Innovation Arc brings together the Leeds NHS Trust, University of Leeds, Leeds Beckett University and Leeds City Council in an ambitious partnership to create a hub of innovation right in the centre of Leeds. It provides a base for entrepreneurs, start-up and scale-up companies to mix with established hi-tech businesses and tap into the expertise of world class education institutions, to create innovative new products and services.

 

Digital Skills Innovation District

The University of Birmingham connects two city-centre innovation districts with its campus-based R&D and entrepreneurship activities in Edgbaston.

The Exchange, in the ‘civic heart’ of the city, hosts digital skills programmes in partnership with city-centre businesses along with a student incubator and WMREDI which supports inclusive growth policies with local government.

The Innovation Birmingham campus is in the Knowledge Quarter of the city and is the region's leading digital tech campus. A partnership with Bruntwood SciTech, it is home to over 170 businesses, and part of the West Midlands 5G Accelerator.

 
 

Knowledge Quarter Liverpool

Knowledge Quarter Liverpool (KQ Liverpool) is a thriving innovation district spanning 450 acres and covering more than half of Liverpool City Centre. As home to some of the UK’s leading Universities, healthcare institutions, and a vibrant entrepreneurial community, KQ Liverpool is a collaborative partnership working together to attract inward investment and support business growth, inspire and attract talent, create a smarter, greener city and provide a suite of inclusive innovation support programmes.

The KQ Liverpool partners include the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool City Council, Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and Bruntwood SciTech, each offering different areas of expertise, while sharing the same vision and collaborating to achieve the same goals

 

Newcastle Helix

Newcastle Helix is a 24 acre regeneration scheme in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne. Helix is home to world class research, SMEs, corporates, user groups and even urban living. Four national innovation centres and observatories are also based on site. The scheme is a unique partnership between Newcastle University, Newcastle City Council and Legal & General.

GCID

Glasgow City Innovation District is a hub for entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration. It builds on Scotland’s rich tradition of scientific excellence and industrial collaboration.

Bringing together ambitious, forward-thinking people, the District is tackling societal and global challenges and driving inclusive economic growth.

Located in the heart of Glasgow City Centre, the District is home to many innovative companies and organisations who've located here to nurture and accelerate growth, improve productivity, and access world-class research and technology from the University of Strathclyde.

Innovation City Belfast

Belfast’s Innovation District comprises 400-acres right in the heart of the city in an area rich in industrial and maritime history. The waterfront location is already home to universities, world-class research centres, SMEs, start-up and scale-up companies as well as globally renowned, world-leading organisations.

Championed by Innovation City Belfast (ICB), the Innovation District combines industry with academia to accelerate the evolution of research into world-class products and solutions. It also builds on the city’s strengths in FinTech, Health and Life Sciences, GreenTech and the creative industries to bring new and better jobs to the region.

 
 

London West Innovation Network

London West Innovation Network (LWIN) connects stakeholders in innovation at local, national and international levels to leverage the scope of growth and investment in West London. LWIN fosters world-class innovation clusters in the green economy, health, creative/media enterprises, tech-for-good, low carbon and jet zero sectors.  LWIN is focused on supporting high potential innovators by increasing their engagement with their partner academic, governmental and corporate institutions , while also linking local innovation hubs together to support innovation and growth in the region.

 

South Yorkshire Innovation District

We solve market and societal challenges for a smarter, greener, healthier and better connected future. A partnership between South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Sheffield City Council and the talented people that live, work, study, do business and innovate here.  The Innovation District is home to a super connected cluster of world-class research centres, SMEs, start-up and scale-up companies as well as globally renowned businesses, all co-located across four innovation campuses spanning Rotherham and Sheffield.

 
 

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is an Innovation Cluster covering 560 acres, radiating from Stratford in East London, forming a hub of innovation and ideas sharing. Uniting arts, education, science, technology and engineering sectors.

Many developments are underway with the final players arriving in 2025. The development of the Park utilises the opportunity of the London 2012 Games to change the lives of people in east London and drive growth and investment in London and the wider UK.
