Driving productivity and prosperity through place-based innovation
We are a peer network of UK Innovation Districts and Knowledge Quarters.
Better together, we enable the delivery of, and maximise the benefits from, innovation districts and knowledge quarters. These new forms of urban geography are places where different sectors and uses intersect to drive innovation and inclusive growth.
Together, the UK IDG represents leading innovative places in the UK where businesses, universities, the public sector, and local communities are working together to develop new technology and practices and tackle some of society’s biggest challenges — ranging from identifying net zero interventions to combatting the spread of infectious diseases to developing new applications for artificial intelligence. We link academic research, think tanks and government policy with practitioners, investors, businesses and innovators across every scale and sector.
Ultimately, our aim is to ensure place-based innovation drives inclusive urban growth in the UK.
